FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Adoption Spot™?

Adoptions Spots™ are web pages used to showcase children awaiting adoption by providing a collection of information customized for each child.  Photos, video, drawings, art work or other personal expressions may be scanned and uploaded to compliment the information provided by the child.

These children have an opportunity to show different sides of their personalities and share their likes and dislikes.

Are you an Adoption Agency?

We are not an adoption agency. The Adoptions Spots™ Program is Kids Central’s way to showcase our kids in a unique light and assist our case management agencies with placing children in a forever home.  These children, for whatever reason and through no fault of their own, were removed from their families and parental rights have been terminated by the court.

Kids Central is a 501.c.3 nonprofit contracted through the Florida Department of Children and Families.

What if I find a child that touches my heart?

Each Spot will include the contact information.  Please email or phone in your interest.  Please keep in mind that unless you have an approved home study, we are unable to provide any information regarding these children.*

Is there a cost associated with AdoptionSpots.org?

There is no fee to use Adoptions Spots. There is also no fee(s) to become an adoptive parent.

Is it possible to adopt a sibling group?

As expected, most brothers and sisters want to stay together. Sibling relationships are potentially the longest relationship we will ever have. Mental health professionals have recently placed more recognition on their significance and we make every effort to have sibling groups remain together.

Sibling groups on Adoption Spots are referred to as “Inseparable Siblings” because of our commitment to keep sibling relationships intact.  It is only in rare instances that are in the best interest of the children that siblings are separated for placement and this can only be ordered by the court.

Is it possible to adopt if I live out-of-state?

Absolutely!  There is no restriction to keep them in state. Families adopt children from outside their State every single month. Sometimes these adoptions can take a little longer because of the process involved with moving a child from one State to another. However, the wait is worth it

I want to find out more about a child I saw on AdoptionSpots.org.  Now what?

Feel free to send an email to Spots@AdoptionSpots.org or call (352) 387-3476.  Someone will be glad to tell you more about the child that tugged at your heart.

*An approved home study is required before any representative can provide information regarding a child.
