A Family for Every Child – A Family For Every Child, a nonprofit organization, began with Christy Obie-Barrett and dozens of dedicated, passionate volunteers. Founded in 2006, AFFEC developed into an organization focused on finding permanent and loving adoptive homes for waiting Foster children. Over the last 5 years we have developed 10 plus programs that assist special-needs/challenging-to-place foster children in finding their own Forever Families.

 

Adopt Us Kids logo        Adopt Us KidsRaises public awareness about the need for foster and adoptive families and provides support to find families for children in foster care, particularly the most challenging to place including older youth, those who are part of a sibling groups that need to be placed together, and children and youth of color, and to assist with placements across county and state boundaries.

Parents struggling with teens whose problem behavior is out of control can touch base with those who have weathered the storms of adolescence.  This site offers open forums, self-tests and real-life experiences.

Grief Speaks logoGrief Speaks –  Giving every child, teenager and adult permission to grieve and providing grief with a voice by means of presentations and workshops that provide education, strategies, resources and support for children, teens and adults who are coping with grief due to all different types of loss. The Loss around adoption needs to be grieved. This loss is real and needs validation, expression and acknowledgement or every member of the family will suffer.

 

Parents Universal Resource – PURE logo For the past several years Parent’s Universal Resource’s has assisted families with valuable information and resources for their children and teens that are at risk.  Teens that are struggling with today’s peer pressure, experimenting with drugs and alcohol, and simply good kids starting to make bad choices.
